With East Africa coming together as one block, Uganda has become a major destination for seekers of another "kind of education"! Most private boarding schools in Uganda today, if not all, have over 20% of their population being a mixture of Kenyans, Rwandans, Tanzanians and Southern Sudanese students. What do we serve them here? We serve them the same old education that is not necessarily getting us anywhere - at least NOT YET if it ever does!
That's why the Revolution Uganda approach through Life Community Academy becomes a ray of hope in the search for relevant and skills based education and training for the rural poor. That's why we are rural based! One day we shall get there.
This year we have embarked on a tree planting project that has seen our learners plant 5,000 trees throughout the whole village. The children planted a seed bed at the school, watered the seeds, they germinated and grew and we donated them to each learner!! We shall show you the Life Community Academy village forests when you visit us some day.
A good and happy day!
Stay tuned for more.
